Action week

Hockney again, in his big exhibition of nature paintings in the Royal Academy a few years ago,  talked about ‘action week’, the moment when spring reaches its tipping point and blazes in all its glory.   I’m calling it.   Today the colours and lushness were off the scale and with the first warmth in the air the world came to life.   

I took Mum up to the greening festival in Hambledon church and this cloud of cow parsley in the churchyard seemed emblematic of season.
