First sun - and snow
We woke to a teeny bit of snow. It didn’t melt much as it has been cold all day.
I had a bit of body maintenance at Saks then walked carefully on the slippy pavements to get the metro into town. I really need new walking shoes as the tread has gone on my Merrils. I tried both Merril and Meindle - both fitted but I got the Meindle as they are made in Europe whereas Merril were from Myanmar. The price was similar.
I got the metro back to Gosforth where Nathaniel was eager to show me all his Lego. He says he needs more acting work so that he can buy another set- apparently there was a chance of 3 months in a show in China but he didn’t fancy it. He’s only 10!
Ella arrived home at 5.30 as rehearsals for Matilda are after school. Her friend Iman is Matilda. Ella is in the chorus which she is happy with. She was very excited with the large bag of clothes I brought down from the second cousins in Kelso, in particular a very smart coat which really suits her.
I am making my first Anna Jones from my new cook book. Orzo, grated beetroot (I added carrot) herbs, garlic and stock and once cooked, added leaves, feta and toasted walnuts and hazelnuts. It is quick and simple but very purple.
