Flat Fenlands

Mr C dropped me at Newcastle station - when I tried to book a train to Ipswich from Alnmouth 2 months ago they couldn’t offer any trains. There might have been issues with work on the line or something hence the drive. I had to travel on a Friday as Carole has a lot of political commitments and council business so that was what fitted in.

The train sat outside Peterborough Station for 20 minutes as there was a broken train ahead of us. That scuppered my plans of walking to the nearby museum. The platform I alighted from only showed what trains left from it so I had to get over to the main part of the station to find where to go for my connection. A poor woman with 2 big cases had a struggle.

This is a blip from somewhere near Manea. It’s dark now. Carole will meet me at Ipswich and has lots of plans for my 2 days with her. We’ve not seen each other since our 200th birthday celebration in Derbyshire in the summer so there will be a lot of happy catching up.
