A rather large stick
Another day when it's rained a lot. Went back to 'Braidburn Valley Park' this morning and found a rather large stick. I wanted to bring it home, but unfortunately it was far too heavy for me to lift so that was the end of that idea.
But just look how muddy the grass was. It was horrible. Not that I cared. I quite liked all the pools of water that had formed on the grass at the other side of the burn. It was like I had my own little paddling pools.
…..........And in other news...................... we don't really have much other news. I got left 'home alone' for a few hours this afternoon while Ann went to take a friend to the doctors and help do some shopping, and the rest of the day has been taken up with cleaning and packing for our Christmas/New Year stay in St Ives.
Ann always likes to clean the flat before we go away so that when we come back, everything is immaculate. She always changes the bedding on the morning that we leave too, because she says that there's nothing nicer than coming home and getting into a nice clean bed. Fortunately she doesn't wash my beds (I've got two) before we go away because personally, I think there's nothing nicer than coming home and finding that my own little beds still smell of me. In fact when Ann washes my beds, I get really cross with her and sometimes I refuse to go back into them for days.
Oh and the only other thing worthy of being mentioned today was..................... I went for an afternoon walk through the grounds of the Royal Ed, just before it got dark, and I met my friend, Bertie the Beardie. He's got long hair and he was looking even muddier than me. However, the grounds of the Royal Ed is another place where we can have run about time and our humans can walk on a proper path. At least then they only have to clean us, not themselves. It was lovely to see him and my human has said she will arrange a play date for us at the end of January. Yay!
Tomorrow we start the long drive down to St Ives. Ann isn't looking forward to it. She says she's getting too old for for all this driving. She finds it exhausting. Having said that; it will be worth it when we eventually arrive in St Ives. Tomorrow I'm going to be having a sleepover with my cousin, Alfie, the Beardie, in the Derbyshire Dales. How nice will that be???
