Icy, Icy, Icy
OMG?! Isn't it cold? We haven't had any fresh snow since Saturday but the snow has never melted and all the paths are very icy. Very, very, very, icy. Apparently it was -12C in Peebles (which is only 20 miles away) this morning and -15C in Ballater?? Seriously? When has it ever been this cold in Scotland? My human lived in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1987/8 and the winter there was absolutely freezing, but everyone was geared up for it. At the time, my human was a primary teacher and if the temperatures dipped below -30C the schools got closed.
Not sure what the temperature was in Edinburgh today (It was -2C when she was in the car at about 3pm) .................. Also not sure what the temperature was in St Ives today (where we have our 'other home') but we've seen loads of posts on social media saying that schools wouldn't be opening until 10am to allow staff & pupils to get to school safely. 50/60 years ago, 'Health & Safety' hadn't been invented. Lol! You just put on your wellies and walked to school and got into trouble if you weren't there on time??!!
Anyway, I had a fabulous long walk this morning through the Hermitage and along the old Braid Hills Golf Course. And then this afternoon I had a little icy trek around the streets. My human always feels a bit scared when we're trekking around icy streets. She keeps thinking I might pull her over. ............As if?!
My human says it's the coldest she's ever known it in Scotland. Is it all due to 'Global Warming'????? Who knows???
All we know is.............................. It's cold, very, very, cold!!!
