Trixie's Adventures

Continuing on with the TV saga #itsgoodtoRANT!

On Thursday 5th December, Ann ordered a new TV from Amazon. Her friend, Simon, had told her which one to buy, and as Amazon was the cheapest place to buy it, that's where she bought it from. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday, so Ann requested that she didn't have any shifts yesterday because she wanted to be here when it arrived.

The tracker thingy on Amazon said that it was scheduled to arrive by 8pm but it also said it was at the dispatch centre and not out for delivery. It didn't come by 8pm! Ann was in a very bad mood because she'd stayed in practically all day and I'd only had little walks.

This morning she really wanted to go swimming with her 'Dippers & Swimmers' group and try out her new swimming gloves but she knew that (after my morning walk) she had to investigate where our new TV was.

The Amazon tracker thingy said that it was being delivered by 'ArrowXL' so she phoned them just after 9am and was 33rd in the queue. The recorded message said, 'We are experiencing a high level of calls and it would probably be quicker to speak to an agent online.' It wasn't quicker to speak to an agent online?! After ticking a few boxes and then saying that the problem hadn't been resolved, a message popped up that said, 'Please wait while we connect you to an agent'.

After almost half an hour, a real live person answered the phone, but she still hadn't been connected to an online agent! The 'real live person' was really nice. These people who work in call centres do an amazing job. It must be horrible to have to take calls from angry people all the time. Ann tries to be nice to them because it's not their fault that the big companies can't organise themselves properly.

Long story short................... our TV is in a distribution centre in Worchester and it hadn't even been booked out for delivery. 'Real live person' said that Amazon just pluck a date out of thin air for delivery??!!

The first date that it can be delivered is next Tues (17th Dec). 'Real live person' said that Ann could choose any date she wanted after Tues. That wasn't really an option because her work rota runs from a Thurs to a Wed (she's working Tues/Wed this week) and next week she's already agreed to do 5 shifts, any days/times because other people are off. The 'Pool Club' is a great place to work because they let her go back up to Edinburgh whenever she wants and always find her work when she comes back, so she feels that if she's made a commitment to them, then she can't turn round and say she's not working on a particular day, just because she wants a new TV. And is the new TV even going to be delivered next Tuesday?

Sooooooo................ our new TV is now scheduled to arrive next Tuesday, but as Ann is working 10.30am-3.30pm, she's not really sure what to do. Apparently on Tuesday morning we will get a 2 hr time slot. Hopefully it will be either before or after Ann is at work but who knows? 'Real live person' asked if it could be left with a neighbour. We don't have any neighbours. All of the houses near us are holiday lets' #whyislifeneversimple?

Oh, and just to add insult to injury....................... this afternoon Ann got an email from Amazon asking her to review her TV, which some database box said was delivered yesterday........................ Ann wrote a review; but then she had to delete half of it because the 'comments' box only allowed a certain number of characters and obviously Ann was having a big long rant. Lol!
…..................And in other news........................ I've been to the beach twice today. Ann's going to be doing a lot of work in the run up to Christmas, so she's trying to be super organised, and plan my walks and her social life, so that we both know what we're doing until 2025. #12daystillChristmas

PS – Tonight neither of us are doing anything. …...............Apart from watching 'Coronation Street'. Lol!!!
