Packed my bag and did a couple of jobs before checking the trains- all ok for later. Bus to station and first train to Newark worked very well. Had a nice walk to change stations, and arrived at Newark Northgate to find that my direct train to Edinburgh had been cancelled. There were several station staff on the platform giving advice , so instead of waiting over an hour for the next direct train I changed at York. It all worked well, the staff at Northgate even moved my seatfrog upgrade for me, though the website was telling me to try to buy another one and claim a refund for the original. I arrived about 10 mins later than originally planned, and the first class carriages were virtually empty. Walked up to Ds in the crisp cold , had a lovely dinner snd settled down for an evening of tv and chat
