Drove to the Fort with D to meet VW for coffee, a delicious scone and a chat. Had a quick look around a nice home interior shop and then they went for their travel vaccinations whilst I mooched around the shops. I had already decided I had brought the wrong coat - waterproof but not warm enough - and there was a big Next at the shopping centre so I ended up buying a duvet coat with a hood. I like the colour, it kept me warm for the rest of the day and didn't let in any of the later torrential rain.
Parked the car back at Ds and walked down to St james centre via the sewing shop for elastic and toggles to keep the hood from my new coat in place. Treated myself to some perfume, browsed a few shops, tried to have a drink in the Golden Turd but was allegedly fully booked - though there were a lot of empty tables. We had a look at the view though . It was pouring with rain by then and we couldn’t get a table in any of the restaurants we tried in town so walked to the Outsider and had a delicious coley dish. Called into Lidl on the way home and then changed out of wet socks and settled down for the evening at about 3.30!
