Sally Mair - Loving life

Today I headed through to Grangemouth for my annual college reunion. It's just a small affair, 31 of of us there this year which is more than usual. Callendar Park College in Falkirk was closed, as part of the government reorganisation of teacher training, in 1984 - so that's almost 40 years ago. It was only opened in 1964, so had a short but very effective lifespan and those trained there have a good reputation. The youngest of those who graduated are now in their 60s.
We had our usual raffle to which everyone brings one or two prizes. I did well this year and came away with some hand cream and wash, a pen set and a large box of those chocolates which grow on you, according to Norman Wisdom! I also won another large box of chocs but put it back in to allow someone else to win a prize. The money raised this year, over £200, went to the Falkirk area foodbank, the choice of the first prize winner.
When I got back home, we did some more furniture moving getting ready for the carpet cleaner who comes at 9am tomorrow. Such a bad idea to arrange it just after we got back from holiday, still hopefully it will be worth it. Goodness knows how long it will take to put all the furniture etc back. Hopefully again, I'll get rid of some more stuff in the process.
I headed out this evening to see Isobel in her first dance show which was held at the EICC. She worked have had one a couple of years ago but COVID put paid to that.
It was a great occasion with young people from nursery age to late teens taking part. A hugely talented group of young people. Isobel was in half a dozen different groups and did very well. A huge thing at 7 years old. Her dancing is going well, they are off to Blackpool in February for another competition.
My Blip is the cover of the programme.
