Not Portobello Beach Edinburgh
Spring and summer collide in the High Alps. Just below the snow line the larch are springing rapidly into life. Our day began among these larch trees on our way, by three separate cable cars, to the highest panorama point in Europe at the summit of the Klein Matterhorn at 3883 m 12740 ft. Needless to say the view was stunning despite the wind and -1 temperature. The altitude had a detrimental influence on one Korean toddler who had to be administered oxygen in the cable car but quickly recovered as we descended. In the afternoon we took the train from a very warm and sunny Zermatt to Geneva and flew home to Edinburgh landing at 2250 in heavy rain!
