Water in the air…
Mist in the valley and mud underfoot. I went to Pilates first thing and picked up papers on the way back because V said it was too muddy to walk through the field for him to do it.
Did household chores and then went over to lunch at Mum’s taking the macaroons I bought her from Laduree in Cannes.
Back mid afternoon ready to launch into some gardening and outside chores but Storm Babet had caught up with us and the rain fell solidly for the rest of the day. So I talked to Rory about paint colours and then zoomed B and C with the babies. They’d been to the transport museum, B has always loved a train and is obviously passing that on. Ivy was transfixed by the zoom and demonstrated her walking and her signing and Leo was shown standing at the foot of his high chair and was clearly beginning to cruise around it.
We lit the first fire in the sitting room. I am planning to cook quince and apple crumble tomorrow and tried my quince vodka from last year. Much improved! It has turned a rich honey colour and the slightly vegetalic taste and smell has faded.
