Wet rose

I had my Covid jab in Morpeth this morning. I explained I had a cold and had got 2 negative Covid tests and he said it was fine to proceed with the jab. He offered a flu one at the same time so I did that too as it saves going back on Saturday.

Next it was the optician. I’ve seen the same chap for 20 years so we always have a chat. I was surprised when he told me they no longer take NHS people. I’m entitled to a free check but I paid into a plan there, having complex eye issues and it entitled me to be able to phone up any time I had an issue - this was invaluable when my cataract replacements suffered from capsule hazing. I said he was a greedy b…. but he said it wisnae him.

My cold is still unpleasant so I hope the jabs don’t cause any reaction as my girls are taking me for tapas tomorrow then a candlelight Bowie thing in the cathedral. Fingers crossed!

I see Sunak has told the Israelis he “wants them to win”. He’s a winner, having ensured his wife’s companies trousered £2million from the tax-payer in Covid start up money. Surely this must be the end of them.
