Delia’s halloumi cheese

Feeling annoyed with courier DPD. Its message said they'd deliver my Peter Nyssen bulbs between 12.26 and 1.26. We were at home all day and alert for the door bell. At 12.29 I got a message saying as I hadn’t been at home they would leave my package at the Co-op tomorrow. We suspect they couldn’t be bothered to drive here, and dropped it off there after doing other jobs. Not good enough driver Oscar. It’s now at the Co-op awaiting collection.

Then I tried to book a Superdrug appointment on-line for some malaria tablets but the wheel just kept whirring so after countless phone calls to various numbers I eventually got a very helpful and pleasant man who took our details and I have an appointment at noon on Wednesday in Northumberland Street so I should be done before my RVI eye check. They couldn’t do us at the same time so Mr C is 1.40.

It’s been a gorgeous day but I’ve been indoors sorting out a nice meal for the daughters arriving. We’ll start with cocktails. I’m doing the Delia halloumi cheese starter, a teenage favourite of theirs, then Jamie’s posh fish pie and green veg followed by homemade salted caramel ice cream.

Tomorrow we are divvying up my jewellery. I’m not giving it all to them now but we’re getting down in writing what they take turns in choosing. I want them to get what they like without being swayed by the value.
