We’re off!

I managed to get packed this morning and Mr C dropped me at Alnmouth where I joined Jenny on the train to London.

We had a lovely catch up and a glass of wine and before we knew it we were on the sweltering Victoria line then using google we walked to out horrendously expensive Premier Inn.

By 7.30 pm we were in our room, pouring a gin and eating the smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches I made earlier.

Jenny has been in charge of this trip. Luckily she checked the paperwork tonight. The initial departure time was for 10.45 am but another piece of information said 9am. We enquired and found it was 9am so it’s an early start to get there for check-in. (There’s a problem on the line after Calais so we are being taken by coach to Lens). Fingers crossed Jenny’s 75th birthday treat works out as planned after that!
