Fall Clematis

Our guests had an early appointment to tour the Maryland State Police Aviation command post including a visit in one of the helicopters. They asked that I have breakfast ready at 8:00. Just before it was time to sit down, they received a call that plans had changed and they had to visit immediately. Oh well, it was beyond their control. I ran out to look for the monarch but it wasn’t here. Although, my new Autumn clematis has started to bloom. Aren’t these tiny flowers adorable? Next year, we will probably see many more blooms. When our guests returned and had eaten, hubby and I went grocery shopping for the final items we’ll need next week. I came home and made more cranberry scones, bacon and cheddar scones, cooked and combined ingredients for a sausage and cheese crescent braid, made additional sausage for tomorrow’s breakfast and washed our bed linens and other whites. Will have to do guests’ linens before leaving tomorrow. I finished after 4:00 pm. They are taking us out to dinner at 6:00. Hoping I can stay awake… My sister says she will be the hostess starting tomorrow evening. Sounds good! Probably shouldn’t have, but I listened to the news while I cooked. So heartbreaking. Hope your day was a bit calmer. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “Even the tiniest of flowers can have the toughest roots. “ - Sharon Mullen
