Catterline

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . for inspiration

We've moved our base to the south of Aberdeen today and we're on the coast.

It was such a lovely day - windy and a bit wild but lots of blue sky and sun - and we couldn't resist a quick detour down to the harbour at Catterline. This was the place beloved by the Scottish painter, Joan Eardley and where she spent the latter part of her life until her untimely death in 1963 at the age of 42.  It was easy to see how she might have been inspired by the crashing waves on the rocks, the steep cliffs and the rest.

We called in on a friend who lives just south of Catterline - in a lighthouse (see extra).  That was pretty inspiring too . . . . . . . . . . !
