Trains, Mountains, Automobiles

Up early, packed the SUV, ate a bite and headed to Tennessee via, West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. We should reach our hotel within an hour. I took many photos to share with you but had to narrow it down to these. We think the Camaro is around 55 years old. Looks great. Most of the trip was spent driving in the Appalachian Mountains. We passed through small town America in each state. In Kentucky, we went through the DQ drive in. The guy in front of us got out and asked if we were buying dinner. We said no, only small blizzards. When we picked up our order, we were told that it was already paid for. What an unexpected treat. We think he did the same thing for the lady in front of him. We noticed some leaves are already changing color. There were train tracks along the road for most of our route and a river next to them quite often. Our skies started overcast, then vibrant like the first shot and now very dark. It has rained so hard in the last 15 minutes that we can barely see the car in front of us. We are crawling down the highway. We may just get carry out for dinner and take it to the room. All in all, it has been a very pleasant day. Easy for me to say on the passenger side, wrapped in my blankie with intermittent naps. I sure hope the weather will be kinder for the funeral. Wishing you a relaxing weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for your visits, hearts, stars and thoughtful comments. “The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to.”
