White Cart otter, at last

An unexpected sighting of two otters cavorting in the river close to the Shawbridge weir. It’s a poor photo, the best I could do in the short time they were around. They very quickly disappeared into the Himalayan balsam where you could just about make out a track so it’s probably a good place to see them again.

The otters elevated an otherwise routine day.
