Croft 3

Who needs art on the walls when the picture windows frame this?

Walked the dog first then walked up to the phone room to do a zoom with JC and a new editor who is joining the team.  I enjoyed the walk back listening to William Boyd’s newest book, The Romantic on audible.  It’s a perfect holiday read; sweeping and fun.

We went over to Ulva for lunch at the Boathouse and our usual walk round the shore.  The machair was not at its finest - the hot sun in June burned it through as @tresnish says.  But it was still lovely, with large patches of eye bright and in the marsh below the wood the meadowsweet is already fluffy.  Reminding me to do the meadowsweet vermouth as planned.

After the walk we had tea at the boat house before dropping into the garden at Lip Na Cloiche.  It too had suffered from the heat a bit but I I managed to talk gardens with the owner and bought a few plants including a rather spectacular succulent.

Dinner with CM at Croft 3 the new venture of Jeannette.  Beautiful building,  very simple the only art one of CM’s tiles.  But with the light outside and the beauty of the view who needed art on the simple plaster walls.
