Al Fresco

We realised we’d rarely had lunch outside the cottage here. Normally we’d be off somewhere, picknicking but we decided to not drive today and stay on Treshnish.  So we had a delicious lunch of smoked trout, halloumi and tzatziki made with the cucumber we were gifted on arrival.

In the afternoon we walked down by the Coronation Meadow again and hoped to make it a circuit by hopping over a stile but realised it was uniquely placed for us to fall down a cliff into a hidden cove so didn’t.  *

I tell a lie I drove to Dugie’s shop for more gooseberries and picked up mint and dill for the tzatziki.  After lunch i made gooseberry fool to take to dinner with our hosts, landlords and friends @treshnish.  Glorious dinner with the freshest lobster I’ve ever tasted.  V ecstatic to eat squat lobster again.

It was a lovely evening and we stayed late which was fine for us flâneurs but we felt a bit guilty for the hard working hosts.

Addendum. Rory completed today and has moved into his new flat in Plumstead.  Thank the lord!!

*host S said that it would have been fine in the winter as there was a clear path alongside the cliff.  We continue to call it Deathleap Stile.
