A Day Gan Oot

Lest you think I have jetted off to Greece, you would be wrong- notice the Orkney flag bravely flying in the foreground.  This was St Margaret’s Hope where the Cheeky Monkey Taxi Service took me, firstly to see an exhibition in the Loft Gallery by a Hoy Artist known to the present Mrs Creel and then back to Burray for lunch in the Polly Kettle Cafe, which has long been on my ‘to do’ list. There we were joined by Pete who plays a mandolin and also knows the present Mrs Creel and his friend Rick who had just cycled up from Land’s End to John O’ Groats and on to Orkney. It made for an exceptionally jolly table and the food was delicious.

Earlier at the slip, I met a couple from the camp site who were in Orkney for the kayaking weekend and who had by coincidence met son #1 at a wedding in Elgin last weekend and by deduction from their conversation with him had identified me. What are chances of that happening?
