Edinburgh is a Traffic Jam

Welcome to Edinburgh the city of scaffolding, road closures and traffic jams. This traffic jam in George IV Bridge is caused to a large extent by the closure of the north bound carriageway of North Bridge. The scaffolding covers the Central Library and the Radisson Hotel and no doubt will extend yet further when the building housing the Elephant House is gutted after the recent fire.

I took this blip as I stumbled back from SpecSavers half blinded by the drops used to dilate my pupils for an eye test.
I had to negotiate the tourists and the cobbly bits of the High Street without bumping into anything or tripping up as I shielded my eyes with dark glasses from the sunshine which took that inopportune moment to appear.
