Round the Island Yacht Race

It was an early start for the 1400 yachts taking part in the annual Round the Island race with the first fleet away at 5AM this morning.

It was a truly spectacular sight with all the competitors battling for position in a moderate breeze as the sun rose.

The record time of just under four hours could be broken this year with the bulk of the fleet of amateur and professional sailors completing the circumnavigation in up to 12 hours.
