A day on Queen Victoria's Beach

Best viewed in Large.

At last a warm sunny summer day and the perfect excuse to spend it relaxing in the deck chairs at the beach at Osborne House.

This is the private beach where Queen Victoria and her children used to come to relax and play in the sea and collect shells. The Queen would venture into the sea via the bathing machine which has been restored and is shown here on display. Excellent ice cream can be obtained in the pavilion.

The picture was taken using the panorama function on the camera which has worked quite well apart from some banding in the sky.

The yachtsmen in the 1400 boats on the island for tomorrows Round the Island Race will be hoping for slightly stronger winds for the 5AM start.
