More normal

After a recent rain, the river is looking more normal for this time of the year although we would need much more to completely fill the local reservoir. We are not out of the woods yet. I took the service this morning which was followed by two meetings, one of which could have been very difficult. It actually went as well as we could have hoped. It remains to be seen whether the objections and resentments of one or two disruptive people can be overcome. Our organist and tower captain came in for some particularly undeserved personal criticism. He was quite upset so we invited him back for lunch so he would not stew on it. I wrote up the minutes in the afternoon and then had a good rest watching the French Open
