Azalea

I love this azalea. Oddly this year they are all out before the rhodies - usually they coincide.

It’s another glorious hot, sunny day. Mr C has tied up the sweet peas and tidied stuff in the garden. I cooked a curry and made lemon ice cream with some of the lemons from the Soller orchard. I said we had enough for four so we could invite friends from along the road but Mr C declined. He’s a bit fed up about his hearing which took a downturn after the firework-at-our-feet incident on our was back to Soller from the port last week. The extent of his difficulty became more apparent at the party last night when he was unable to join in general conversation. (It was a lovely party and good to see Chris and Eileen over from California for a few weeks - I used to work in Alnwick with his Norwegian dad 40 years ago).

I’ve had to come in from the garden as it got too hot to read my book. (I had an Elly Griffiths in Mallorca for a holiday read but obviously didn’t have time to read much there so I’m pretending I’m still on holiday.)

The Whitley Bay family went for a bike ride to Tynemouth. Ella had Imman in to play and Nathaniel was at Daniel’s while their mum did marking.
