Swotting

A boring day...the boys are all studying for exams. The older boys need no assistance from me at all (other than to listen to some Greek prose translations), and besides, they are way beyond me now - I am sure that maths and science have cranked up many levels since I did them at school.

But Thomas, in year 7, needs me to check that he knows his facts so I did some random asking of his work. I now know all about the Battle of Bosworth, am rather hot on my French verbs, and could tell you a thing or two about the poems of Seamus Heaney. It is like being back at school - thank goodness exams are this week for him and then next weekend it is back to cricket and having more fun. And maybe, summer may decide to put in an appearance.
