RIP
One of our long standing friends visited today with her husband. Both are now retired dentists and like many of us are trying to declutter.
One such item was a skeleton her father had purchased in the early 1970s - commercially and legally then - for the sum of around £68 to be used for anatomical studies.
It has lain in a box for a few decades and our friend has sought to ensure that it is passed on in a respectful manner. Despite being bought legally it is now much more difficult to dispose of skeletons appropriately. It could lead to a whole new episode of Silent Witness if not done correctly.
This was how students learned and in this case it apparently shows that there was an abscess in the upper right area. Her former university has agreed to take it and care for it so it was on its way to be handed over.
It made for a different daily photograph to one I had planned.
