Diary of an Edinburgher

Krakow Day Seven

Rain today. So, not conducive to going out, though JR popped along the road to her booked appointment at a manicurist and had her nails done in the morning. (Extra)

I checked out going to visit Schindler’s Factory, we could have got a taxi there. But it was all booked up today. And every day. (We had been told you need to book in advance…)

In the afternoon we both availed ourselves of the spa facilities. JR did a few miles on the cross trainer (note the trim photographer in the towel inadvertently in the mirror). I had a flounder in the pool and fiddled with taking selfies in the water. I knew the phone could stand general wetness. But actually, it’s not that happy that the connection got damp… it’s still ‘drying out’.

I also had a sauna. But a chap joined me. Awkward conversation ensued:

‘Have you been here long?’
‘About seven minutes… Oh, you mean Krakow?’

‘Have you been here before? Krakow, not the sauna…’

I’m pleased that after a whole week here, I have finally worked out how to get down to the spa in a dressing gown and slippers without going through reception. There are different wings, different lifts, and our nearest lift doesn’t go down to -1.

We went down to reception to fix up our bill, and popped down to the cocktail bar for the last time. Our two favourite barmen were on. We managed to use up the whole (quite large) deposit we paid on our arrival.

It’s a wonderful city. And a wonderful hotel.

Taxi picking us up at 7.30 tomorrow. BIG improvement on 4am.
