First Freeze in the Forecast
We were up in time for 7:00 am Mass, thanks to the time change. Still not used to it. We have a freeze watch for tonight. It has been cold and blustery all day. I pulled all my tomatoes and peppers. They will ripen in a bag, wrapped in newspaper. While in the garden, I took final photos of my showy marigolds and lantana. This is just one of the plants. They will probably be ruined tonight. Hubby put away the rest of the fountains and took care of other odd jobs. He put together a new puzzle. I separated all Christmas gifts according to recipient and started wrapping. Lauren came over bearing “gifts” aka thrift shop finds in exchange for fresh tomatoes and tomato sauce. I made out on that swap. As she pulled out of the driveway, Mancil pulled in. I had fish fillets, coconut cream pie and pumpkin roll for his Mom plus his thank you gift for watching my kitties. In exchange, he took MANY slides from the 70’s and earlier to digitize. We found an app; it may not be professional grade but we’ll try it. We were having chicken tortilla soup for dinner but the chicken is still frozen. Guess I’ll have to pull another restaurant gift card. It has been a very enjoyable weekend. Sure hope yours was as well. Max sounded encouraged about the Ukrainian victories lately. Let’s pray they continue to be successful. Stay safe and healthy. Thanks for your visit.
“Every flower blooms in its own time
But Marigold chose the old autumn
She chose to rise amidst the fallen leaves
And hid the pain of dying winter.
The earth would exhibit imperfections
Without the yellow and orange blossoms.
How blissful life would be if everything made an existence to propel the colours.
The colors to brighten dull soul,
The colors that carry all burden
And oh that color,
That gathers all tranquility
To rejuvenate the hungry mind
And resurrection to the corpse.” -
