Dinner’s Ready

We probably had our final glorious fall weather today. We expect temps in the 30s F tonight. We promised to be at our mother’s by 10:00 am. Hubby was able to drive us down but we let him rest until time to leave later in the day. Between us three women, everything was ready a little after 1:00 pm, our scheduled meal time. I took this photo as we were putting the last few items on the table. Our visitors were granddaughters and cousins of the lady/widow who lived with my parents for over 25 years. Our families were close until she passed almost 20 years ago although they’ve kept in touch with Momma. It was fun catching up. They really enjoyed everything we prepared and topped off their meal with cake, pie and ice cream for dessert. They always loved Momma’s cooking and told her “she still had her touch”. My BIL, sister and I took care of everything after dinner so our mother could enjoy the day. We were finished in time to get to 5:00 pm Mass at our church. We were pleasantly surprised when grandson Parker joined us. My son gave us more fish in exchange for our Mother’s crab casserole. It felt awesome to sit down on the recliner. Tomorrow should be restful except for Trek duty. Brooklyn had two fantastic games as goalie today, not giving up either point in two games. She plays two more tomorrow, in Virginia again. Thanks for stopping by. Sure hope you are having a nice weekend. “Treat your family like guests and your guests like family”. - Judy Bae
