Frosty start
Brrr, it was a cold but bright start as N scraped the frost off the windscreen. This was our first frost of the autumn and the River Tweed looked beautiful in the sunshine and the swirls of mist rising from the water. Along the bank quite a number of brightly coloured fly agaric mushrooms were pushing through the grass. (Extra)
N was fishing on a different beat and will be there on Friday and Saturday also. He made a good start by catching another salmon, just a small one this time, and it was returned safely to the river.
It was such a lovely day that Bertie and I stayed on the beat all day as there are such lovely walks along the river there. Later we all went out to a local hotel where we knew that Bertie would be allowed in the bar and we could have a meal, a real treat.
