There can be only one!
I seem to having some affinity with deer at the moment. That is two weeks in a row, early on a Thursday morning where the deer and I have been exerting ourselves in perfect harmony. Last week one ran alongside me when I was running full pelt up the hill out of Broadwood loch. This morning while I was riding into Fankerton, I looked to my left and into a field and about 5 feet away, matching me for pace was another deer flying along. I really felt for a moment I was Connor MacLeod being tutored by Ramirez and completely at one with all living things.
So today's blip is my recovery drink. One of my fabulous RPM coaches was telling me that the best thing to drink straight after exercise is milk and I have been drinking it faithfully after every session. I went into the shop to pick up a pint of the white stuff and then I happened upon this lovely product in chiller cabinet. I am in recovery drink heaven. It was very tasty too.
So big day coming up tomorrow. The plan is to go on the same 'sleep in' route as last week by going up the Tak Ma Doon road and turn left over the crow road. When we get back into Kilsyth we are going to go back up the Tak and turning right and following this morning's route back home. Looking like it's going to be close on 48 miles with about 4,500 feet of ascent. Bring it ON!
Then it is home for some breakfast, start the packing and off to Windermere for a week with the girls. Looking forward to some nice walks with the family, drinking lots of cups of tea, eating some nice home baked cakes and generally just chillin' like a villain con mis chiquitas.
