Brown Thrasher

Hubby volunteered to be a pall bearer for an elderly lady in our parish so he was up and out the door mid-morning. I washed and filled the bird feeders, took down and washed the blueberry netting, changed bed linens and cleaned the kitchen. Finally had an opportunity to get a picture of one of our brown thrashers. They usually forage along the edge of the forest but these two like to hang out in my front garden. They can hide amongst the bee balm that is covered in bees. Obviously, they like suet. My son asked me to take him to the Navy Exchange for a few items. We had some great conversations. It warms my heart that he can speak with me about anything. Last evening, he called and asked if we’d come check Parker who had taken a hard tumble on their concrete patio. His head and hands were bleeding. Not having any nursing genes, I let hubby clean and bandage all of Parker’s cuts and abrasions. The head wound was simply superficial but the blood frightened all present. After lunch, hubby went to Kim’s to get me knee braces. I really had a hard time with that right leg this morning. Maybe a brace will help ease the knee pain. Don’t want the rest of our pilgrims to always have to wait for me. We have a few last minute jobs tomorrow, otherwise we are ready. Kindle time and leftovers tonight. Right after the nap I am about to take. Thanks for stopping by. Read Max Blazer’s journal about Ukraine’s status last night. Those folks are really feeling hopeless. Stay safe.

For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet; For song of bird, and hum of bee; For all things fair we hear or see, Father in heaven, we thank Thee!” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
