Hardy Hibiscus

Started our day early so we could work outside before it became unbearable. Case in point, it is 92°F (33.3°C) outside at the moment (5:30 pm when temps start moderating). I continued deadheading our butterfly bushes, removed some of the blueberry coverings now they have finished producing and of course, weeded a few gardens. Our hibiscus in the front garden are blooming so they had to be today’s blip. What a sweaty and uncomfortable mess I was when I headed to the shower. Hubby trimmed everywhere, a terrible job in the heat. He took our pull behind 17-year old utility trailer to the shop for a check. Preliminary inspection shows the springs on one side have failed. We’re replacing them all to be safe. Have to admit, after lunch, we both hit the recliners, and other than doing a load of laundry, we are still there. That heat just drains us. Hope you are able to avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temps. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “A Hibiscus in full bloom seems as if giving off light; it has a luminous quality that calls out to you.” -Wangari Maathai
