Raspberry cone
Well what a totally miserable day it is out there today - I think for most of the country, not just up here.
Needs must, so I donned all the waterproof gear i could lay my hands on and even swithered about whether to take my camera or not as it was so wet and blustery. Anyway I did take it and brought it out just to get a shot of the delightful larch cone. I blipped the beginnings of this a few weeks ago and now it is beginning to take on the cone shape although I think the points at the end look just like slivers of almonds. Nature never ceases to amaze me and the beauty of this embryonic cone is astonishing and I would be interested if anyone has any idea why it is such a gorgeous colour.
My cupboards and fridge were looking very bare after my time away so I took the chance of the awful day to do a supermarket shop and now my chums are happily at my feet as I enjoy a cuppa while posting this blip. They are still damp from the morning's adventure despite several towels worth of drying but they will soon dry as the heating has come on! Who said they had seen the first swallow?
