Bubblewrap

There was very heavy rain last night, as forecast, measuring 22 mls and so before I went off for my art class I had a look around the garden for any suitable blips - as you do after the rain! I took shots of a rhododendron bud, epimedium leaves and then I saw the emerging flower buds of my arctic willow and that was it! I just loved all the tiny bubbles. This willow started life in my garden as a tiny cutting brought home from a holiday in Orkney over 12 years ago, since when it has not looked back!

It is worth looking at in Large when you can even see the hairs of the pussy willow within the bubbles.

The walk this afternoon was very cold but quite exhilarating as there had been more snow on the hills and wispy clouds were weaving in and out of the crevices and valleys. I knew that more showers were likely and was suitably togged up for a longish walk. However after twenty minutes Bruce decided that the rabbit warren we were just passing was way too interesting to be missed and he darted off to investigate. Initially Cara came with me but looked obviously torn as to who to abandon and when I asked her to "Go find Bruce" she needed no second bidding and that was the last I saw of either of them for half an hour. I knew exactly where they were so just did a loop, vainly calling on the whistle, until I met up with them again looking very sheepish and with earth all over their faces and front paws. They were duly leashed up and taken back to the car with no words spoken and no treats, so they knew they were in trouble! I should in fact be grateful to them both for, as I headed home, the most enormous black clouds were looming from the East and would have drenched us!

On my way home I saw this and blipped it as it made me chuckle!
