Helicopter arrival
It was such a strong wind this morning that the departures and new arrivals had to come by helicopter! This is quite a regular occurrence but I hope one we can avoid as I think I would prefer it on a calm day!
Part two of the marine course is seabirds which Rob presented, then a rock pool session with Glynis.
A previous course participant had gifted us a cream tea which we delightedly ate before setting off for the beach to look for creatures.
Lundy is nearly all high cliffs, with just a couple of places where you can descend to the shore, so we went to the area around the quay. The sea to the east of the island is a No Take Zone and the sea life is recovering well. We discovered anemones and molluscs, and a wide variety of seaweed. Several grey seals came to keep an eye on us!
