East Takaka Church...locked

Hubs out on an abseil practice run with Rich and his mad adventuring mates in prep for Harwoods Hole tomorrow. Took Stan the van into the garage to get the brakes sorted out and he is now fit and passed on the WOF (warrant of fitness).

This is East Takaka Church and normal for NZ and unlike the UK, it's locked.
Relaxing day. Cooked and watched an excellent kiwi film 'Boy' in the evening with the Turners. Very chilled.

For my dear friends who are wondering if I'm going or staying in NZ, just to clarify that I have declined the invite for us to stay on and look after Ali's place
We have to return home to move. Unfortunately while we've been away-our rented house has been sold and we have to be out asap. The exchange goes ahead on May 1st - we're back in Ireland on 29th April....We have agreed on 2 weeks to be out. We quite impressed ourselves by getting a new place in Ballydehob while still in NZ! We nearly rented it 2 years ago,so know it and like it.
Yola has to be back at the end of May for an interview for college and her Irish visitors visa will have run out (our UK passport lets us stay longer).
Mike is going to do a course in Schull in June
Its going to cost a lot of money for Hubs to do a return journey when we would rather be here in the summer months again...its gone all rainy and chilly!

So its home to get us on track with the original plans of community midwifery and Mike to start the TEAAFL course.

Plus I wavered too long and the house sitting has gone to friends who have done it before......quiet little sob from Helen!
