Eco house building

This is part of the eco housing project in Clough Jordan, North Tipperary, where Mike and I have built our house. Our plans and life changed temporarily and our house is now rented out and not in shot (not intentionally) it's next to the castle sided house on the left hand side of the picture. Every house is different, making it an eclectic mix of different shapes, sizes and colours. They are all built to a very high specification ensuring they are energy efficient or passive. It has the biggest solar panel bank in Ireland which helps provides our hot water and heating along with an industrial sized wood chip burner. There's no gas or oil tanks. We have woodland where we grow our trees and a community supported farm providing local organic meat, raw milk, vegetables, potatoes and oats.
Mike, Yola and I spent the night here to break the journey to Dublin. It's always reaffirming that we enjoy ourselves and feel very much part of the project whenever we stay. We're both looking forward to living in our lovely house and being part of such of such a dynamic community...one day.
