Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

A step back in time

I found this in the charity shop this week, it's almost as old as Katy and older than Ali. It was a real bargain, this one originally cost £9.95 from Jenners, I only paid £5 for it. It's perfect, in its box and complete with the cot mounting bar. I think every child of the '80s and some of the' 90s had one of these. Hopefully Josie will like it too.
Today is the 26th anniversary of the Dunblane Massacre. The children would all have been around 31 now. What a tragedy that was, just devastating.
Sunday today so off to church, I was doing prayers so was sure to be early. After lunch we had bacon rolls then headed out to the garden.
I started by hard pruning my Albertine Rose ready for wiring it up next week. I then went over to the veg bed and thinned out and pruned back the raspberries. I got the whole bed dug over (extra) and removed the large rosemary bush which sadly has succumbed to a combination of old age and die back. I cleaned out my, currently vacant, frog pond and freshened up the water too. I was tidying up the main pond when I was delighted to spot a small goldfish. Looks like the otter didn't get all of the second lot after all.

I heard today that one of my friends is in the hospice, her final days have come far too quickly.

We decided to head out to the Loon Fung for dinner after all that effort, I was delighted to find they had reverted to the previous recipe for one of my favourites.
Stay safe folks.
