Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Little helpers,

Thank you for all the comments and suggestions while my hands are not at full strength. These are three of my useful kitchen aids. The silver one is the best I have found for removing tight twist lids, it opens small bottles and lids as big as milk bottles. The white one is to remove ring pulls, it's really handy, I haven't had a ring pull snap since I started using it. The red jar key I've had for over 15 years. They were originally made by Saga. They work like a crown top bottle opener, the edge goes under the edge of a jar lid, you pull it up and it breaks the vacuum seal. It works for all shapes and sizes of lids and absolutely no effort or damage to the lid.
I'm useless at turning lids even when I'm not handicapped at I am at the moment, so these arr all in regular use.
I had an egg in an eggcup (as we used to call them) for breakfast this morning. When we were children we always got a chocolate egg in an eggcup at Easter. My mother, like me, held onto things and I still have those eggcups, a Sooty one, a purple elephant, a rooster, a hen, this one and several others. I'm sure eggs taste better from them.
