Birthday girl

It's Milly's twenty-fifth birthday!

This evening she is off to Paris so we had a birthday meal last evening at The Wharf with Hannah, Charlie, Dan (who'd travelled up from London), Abi, and Milly's cousin, Phoebe*.

However, somehow today morphed into an extra day of celebrating, which I had to juggle as I was still working. It was largely arranged by Hannah and consisted of ice-skating (for Milly and Abi), bowling at Dog Bowl (me, Hannah, Milly, and Charlie), and then lunch at Gorilla (the bowling crew plus Dan).

The ice-skating was set up in the Cathedral Gardens and it was really well done with proper ice and everything. I was more than happy not to venture out, being simply content to watch Milly and Abi tentatively work their way 'round.

It's funny, the people who can skate make it look so effortless but I know that, had I strapped on some skates, I'd have been one of the people hanging onto the side.

*Technically still my niece, I'd like to think.
