Christmas trees and a fair

We walked into Manchester this morning, so the Minx could get her Christmas nails done while I went to do a bit of Christmas shopping in Waterstones.

Crossing the Irwell on the way home afterwards, we looked down on the increasingly sorrowful state of the Mark Addy pub. Today's Blip shows where someone - presumably one of the councils - has cut away some of the steps down to the erstwhile venue.

As the Minx rightly pointed out, they should have made restoration if the pub a condition building to one (or some) of the developers in the area.

As soon as we arrived home, we drove out to the garden centre to buy a tree for the Minx. Well, that was the plan. In the end, we bought three! Two for the house in Salford and one for me to take back up to Kirkby Lonsdale, which is precisely what I did, having dropped the Minx and her trees off.

Later in the afternoon, I walked down into town, thinking that I'd do a bit more Christmas shopping, and was pleasantly surprised by the Christmas Fair, which was waaay better than - I must admit - I would have anticipated.  In my Extra, you can see the Royal Barn's contribution: The Little Barn!
