The Pink Lady

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

The very first day Jefe, Losi and I arrived we were very excited by our hotel. "It has a ROOFTOP TERRACE!" said Losi.

As we approached the hotel we looked up to see it. "THEY HAVE PALM TREES UP THERE!"

There was such excitement. Honestly. Squeals.

Only to find the terrace was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. So by Wednesday, excitement levels were high.

PLUS, Corrie was coming to meet us today AND April booked a karaoke room for us at the Midnight Shanghai yum cha restaurant. I gave Corrie a big hug at the airport and she gave us the news we had been waiting for - the gear had finally arrived and we would have it by mid-day.

So a good day was promised. But still, that rooftop terrace beckoned. We could see the palm trees every time we passed.

The tone for the evening was set by Corrie, who took us to a bottle shop first, "a pre-game" as Jefe put it. Corrie and I went halves on a bottle of Kraken rum and made a decent dent in it before we went out. The karaoke evening was huge fun - having our own room was a good idea. It was more like SingStar but with Chinese food. Tanvi also came to say hi, but it was not conducive for conversation so she didn't stay long.

Obviously, I was amazing. My "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a triumph.

Back at the hotel, April left us and Jefe went to bed, leaving just Losi, Corrie and I to go to the 8th floor, for the rooftop terrace (The Pink Lady).

We made it! We finally made it!

Only to find the palm trees were kind of crappy, the drinks were overpriced and the staff were sort of dicks. We had way more fun on the ground.

So we left early for a kebab before collapsing back into bed.

You may wonder what my state was like by this time. Like Losi and Corrie, I was openly telling people I loved them and I loved the project and they were just the best and I loved them.

Uh-oh.
