Will I won’t I?

No I didn’t cross. The river running through the stepping stones makes me dizzy when it’s not so high.

Our friends from town were coming to walk with us today but texted to say he had a cold and cough so it’s postponed for 2 weeks. I was disappointed as we don’t see them often - the are busy musicians and also have a house in France. They are great company, good people and cheerful.

After reading the Guardian this morning I was anything but cheerful. Not only were there the lies of politicians at COP26, the fact that the Tories are trying to get overturned the decision made on one of their members who broke the ministerial code all, political appointments likely to be made at the BBC, and more, the final straw was reading that a planning application, turned down by Northumberland county council, from Viscount Devonport to erect a huge Stalinist structure in a beauty spot near here, has been given the go-ahead by the government’s planning inspectorate. It is to commemorate the Queen’s platinum jubilee. The locals are against it but councils can’t afford to take on rich landowners. I am about to google him as I’d not heard of him.

Therefore it has been a day when I can’t so far get myself feeling upbeat, despite taking my usual remedy of a walk. (I got soaked into the bargain!) However we are going out to Chris’s tonight and Katy is bringing her Kefir grains as a starter for me to make so that’ll be a healthy treat on our muesli.
