Harvest home

A sweaty, breathless, humid day without a breath of a breeze. Rain teased on the radar and sprinkled on the hills about but slighly missed the valley. I grubbed up the potatoes, with lots of worm damage. The Désirée did poorly but the Kennebek held up in the extremely dry conditions, a local favourite. And a third haul of tomatoes, grievous bottom rot notwithstanding. And another tray of figs to play around with.

An inch of rain is forecast tomorrow, which would be a godsend, not least because it hopefully will break the grip of the resurgent Saharan high pressure area.
