Diary of an Edinburgher

Sore paw…

Didn’t she (Emma) do well! A terrifc match, both young women have exciting futures in tennis.

Becky took Archie out for a walk - Daniel is off on holiday. I made a start on (online) Sunday papers, and when JR and Archie went off to their favourite shop (yes, he does like it there, except for the glass-sided lifts. And the escalators) I continued with my papers perusing.

JR had decided that she needed a set of proper cheese knives, and yes, JL had the perfect set. She also had a birthday gift to buy.

Later, I got a phone call. They were on the way home, at the bottom of our road, when Archie suddenly developed a sore paw. He kept sitting down. Then he flatly refused to move. JR examined his paw, but could see no damage. He goes all dramatic like that when he has a wee twig stuck in his hairy legs. There was nothing for it - he’s too heavy to carry - but to request a taxi.

He limped into the house (Extra) and his paw was examined closely. A wee bit of redness in between the pads, but nothing drastic. His paw was bathed and he snoozed till tea time.

Archie… Do you want your tea?’ is normally a signal for him to raise from his slumbers, leap off the sofa, and trot to the kitchen…

Which is what he did this time. The paw seems OK. Maybe he was just tired. We’ll see tomorrow.
