Don’t get lost!
A nice warm day which got warmer and sunnier as it went on. I got two loads of washing out while JR was chucking the weighty medicine ball around like it was a big beach ball.
We were to meet a new prospective dog sitter in the afternoon, at a park we were familiar with from one of our first sitters years ago. (Yes, we are planning another wee jaunt, but without Arch).
JR decided to get a few more steps in, and give Archie a good walk, so they set off to walk, after first studying the best route. We’d all walked almost there a month or so ago when we went to the Diggers pub and the sofa shop.
BUT… JR decided to go another route… and got lost. She rang, slightly panicked, as it was supposed to take 35 minutes. Anyway, I was able to establish where she was (quite far away) and direct her back to the park.
Meanwhile, Moira (the dog sitter) and I had a good chat about (the missing) Archie’s little foibles. But eventually they both arrived, very hot’n’bothered, and both in dire need of a big drink of water.
The park is good - completely fenced, and Moira knows all the local dogs who frequent it. She has a ground floor flat with a walled back garden, and she does dog sitting because she is a tourist guide, and takes took, mainly Americans, on 15-day tours of Scotland. So of course, she hasn’t been working since the lockdown.
When we got home, both Archie and JR needed to sit down in the sun and be plied with coffee, snacks and an Almond Magnum to recover. (16, 358 steps)
Amazing progress for Emma Raducanu - reaching the finals of the US Open on her first try! And without dropping a set!!
