Diary of an Edinburgher

Muffins!

Dreich this morning, as expected, so JR took the car along to the gym, for only the second time.

I went to collect our wee pal Mary, whom we used to see every week at the gym, but of course, this has not happened with COVID. JR made blueberry muffins. Archie was most interested, but didn’t get any. Undeterred, he quietly rested his nose close to an empty muffin case, and was quite happy just standing there, breathing in the aroma. (Extra)

Mary fell in her flat last year, and has been restricted to her flat, but her family have been looking after her, so we thought a wee outing would be better for her than us visiting her.

She’s walking well, though now with a stick, and is very careful, but we agreed, as we compared ailments, that there are worse - much worse - things that could start to go wrong in old age. JR could not join in with our health woes, but instead regaled us with her daily gym visits, hectic regimes and general excellent health.

Brian, our gardener, popped in to pick up his expensive Belgium beer. He was most delighted with his payment for services rendered.
